Our explosion-proof FL ATEX series air handling units are designed to meet the requirements of industrial environments where there is a risk that gases, vapors, mists or dusts could combine and ignite under certain operating conditions. They are widely used by companies that produce chemicals, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and food, as well as in refineries and waste recycling facilities.
All HVAC system components and air handling units operating in environments where there is a risk of explosion must be specially designed for the task. FL ATEX series AHUs are tailored to meet the latest international norms and directives regarding ATEX, including 2014/34/EU, EN 60079, EN 1127-1 and EN 13463-1, and are applicable for Group 2, Zone 1/2 and Zone 21/22. We also offer a comprehensive range of EX fans and accessories that are fully approved for use in EX zones.

Rectangular duct heaters – ElectricATEX

VEAB’s rectangular ATEX-approved duct heaters are available in ratings up to 1000 kW and are used for heating air in duct systems, central ventilation units and for various industrial processes in environments in which there occasionally occur danger of explosion (Zone 1 and Zone 2). Our flexible production enables us to adapt the duct heater to different sectors of application such as offshore, chemical industry, oil industry and ships.

Fire dampers for explosion environment.

Fire damper is the closure for the HVaC ductworks so that the damper blade on the mechanical, thermal, or electrical impulse close the duct and restrict the spread of fire, heat and smoke. Explosion-proof version is modified by 94/9/ EK directives, which set out the technical requirements for equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres – fire dampers are in the design of group II category 2

Design execution.

Damper blade is made of calcium – silicate asbestos-free boards and is embedded in a protective frame of the damper. Protective frame or damper casing is composed of parts made out of galvanized, structural steel. For rectangular damper calcium silicate board is used for the flange connection between body parts, which together with a blade prevents the spread of fire and heat transfer. The damper is sealed with passive seal (prevents smoke) and active fire seal (prevents smoke and heat in the fire).
